A Lead Maintenance professional is in charge of supervising the upkeep of the premises.Their job descriptions often times include overseeing the physical environment of a building in order to determine what maintenance should be carried out.

Duties and Responsibilities

These professionals are responsible for assigning work to maintenance staff and at the same time responsible for managing the building. Their first duty is usually to make sure that the physical environment of a building is in adequate condition. He/she will patrol both the indoor and outdoor areas of the apartment for areas that need repairs or that shows signs of problems.They also conduct periodical checks on all systems of a building, which includes plumbing, elevators, heating, and air conditioning, as well as other related mechanical components of a building. The Lead Maintenance Professional may also be responsible for the outward appearance of a building. This means patrolling the grounds to ensure that there are no hazards or spills. Their role in the organization may also include inspecting the building regularly for peeled or chipped paint. Other work they do includes monitoring outdoor structures and gardens to ensure that the grounds remain aesthetically pleasant. The supervisor must provide support to and be familiar with Environmental Management Systems and must constantly be aware of any specific duties outlined in the program.

Qualifications

Lead Maintenance Professionals are expected to have the a possession of relevant technical knowledge for the premises they will be managing. They should possess high level of safety awareness. A level of clerical ability and human resource skills to relate effectively with people from diverse backgrounds is essential.
